Uasin Gishu Chapter held its 2017 Sundowner in June under the theme “The Future of Technology in Business and Export Market”.
Speaking at the forum, the Chapter Chair, Mr. Bryan Cuthbert noted that for manufacturers to thrive and contribute to the growth of the nation’s GDP, they need ready markets, both locally and internationally.
Also speaking during the forum EPA Expert, Bernard Kagira noted that the European Union (EU) is a significant destination market for Kenya’s export with top export products including Horticulture and floriculture, fish and fish products and Manufactured Products (Agro-processed products and textile and apparel).
Since 1975, Kenya has enjoyed duty free market access into the EU. This was made possible under trade arrangements extended to Kenya in the context of the preferential trade arrangement that the EU extended to the African Caribbean Countries (ACP).
The networking forum brought together stakeholders from banking, Health, Legal, Consultancy, Sports, Agriculture, Education, and Hospitality sectors.
