KAM Coast Chapter participated in an impact assessment meeting on the Mombasa County automated business services.
The Mombasa Electronic services is an online platform where citizens and business can conveniently apply for Single Business permit, fire protection clearance, outdoor advertising license and liquor licenses.
Speaking during the meeting, Mombasa County governor, Ali Hassan noted that automation has made the process of doing business easy, adding that the County has increased the revenue collection by over 3 billion.
The County Government of Mombasa signed a cooperation agreement in March 2014 to collaborate with the World Bank Group’s Kenya Investment climate program 2 (KICP 2) in reforming the county’s business climate. The county has successful implemented 2 automated electronic system for the electronic construction permit and electronic business permit.
The online services will offer more cost effective access to county Government services hence minimizing regulatory compliances costs incurred by business.
The Mombasa County government is the first county to launch automation of business services.
