Kenya Association of Manufacturers hosted the Women and Youth Bankability Forum to address and mitigate financial challenges affecting entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector.
Overarching interventions are needed to aid the country’s economic and manufacturing sector’s recovery from the impact of COVID-19 as businesses navigate challenges caused by shocks arising from the virus. This is a recommendation of a Manufacturing Resilience and Sustainability Policy Toolkit launched by Kenya Association of Manufacturers and KPMG.
The 1st ever locally manufactured ventilator developed by Kenya Association of Manufacturers’ (KAM) Automotive Sector, led by Mutsimoto Limited, was yesterday certified by Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

Mr Kunyiha, who has been the Vice Chair from July 2018, takes over from Mr Sachen Gudka whose term has come to an end. He has been on the driver’s seat in championing the Association’s Sustainability Agenda and Circular Economy through his role as the PET Sub-Sector Chair. He played a key role in the development of the Kenya Plastic Action Plan, a private sector - led policy and action plan aimed at enabling a circular economy for environmentally sustainable use and recycling of plastics in Kenya, that was launched late last year.
Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has partnered with Bakers Association of Kenya to manage post-consumer plastic bread bags waste in the country. Under the partnership, the two Associations shall work together with stakeholders across the waste management value chain to promote a circular economy in the country.
