KeNHA Commissions New Weighbridge in Mlolongo

In order to enhance movement of cargo through the National Government through the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has constructed and commissioned the new weighbridge along Mlolongo to facilitate business operations through ensuring fast and efficient service delivery.

The construction has opened up frequent traffic snarl-ups on the road within the town, which, in most cases, is caused by long queues of trucks, lorries, trailers and containers waiting to pass through the weighbridge.

Business Community has lauded the government on seeing the need of infrastructure development to enhance economic development in Kenya as entrenched as a pillar in the vision 2030.

Speaking at an engagement, the KAM Machakos Chapter Chairman, Mr. Mureithi Regeru reiterated that infrastructural development would support the growth of the manufacturing sector and its overall contribution to the Gross Domestic Product from the current 10%.
