Thursday, 13th December 2022, Mombasa: Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has partnered with County Government of Mombasa to create a conducive environment for manufacturers based in Mombasa.
Under the Framework of Cooperation, KAM and Mombasa County Government shall establish an incentive framework for the payment of rates and other duties under the Mombasa County Finance Act 2022-2023.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Mombasa County Government Chief of Staff Dr Noah Akala, committed to supporting manufacturers based in Mombasa, “We shall facilitate preferential competitive fees, levies, and charges rates for verified local manufacturers operating in Mombasa County under the Finance Act of 2022/2023.”
KAM CEO, Anthony Mwangi observed that the partnership shall attract investors to Mombasa County and drive the achievement of Manufacturing Vision 20by30, saying, “Since we transitioned to the devolved system of government, we have worked closely to resolve the challenges facing manufacturers in Mombasa County. We shall work together to drive the global competitiveness of local manufacturers, enhance the export intensity of locally manufactured goods, industrialize agriculture and promote the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). We shall also sensitize our Members to ensure compliance with County legislative, regulatory and administrative requirements.”
