KAM Engages CS Environment Hon Soipan Tuya

13/06/2024: KAM paid a courtesy call to the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Hon. Soipan Tuya. During our meeting, we engaged in productive discussions about the Eco Levy as outlined in the Finance Bill 2024, and reviewed the current status of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) implementation. We also explored the development of a structured framework to expand our EPR initiatives across various counties. This expansion focuses on ensuring compliance with EPR regulations and promoting sustainable practices among producers.

Additionally, we discussed the government’s restoration agenda, particularly the ambitious initiative to plant 15 billion trees. In partnership with the Kenya Forest Service (KFS), KAM has contributed to this goal by planting 53,000 seedlings so far.
