Election Preparedness for Industries

70 Members of the KAM Machakos Chapter led by the Vice Chairman Mr. Walter Mochoge hosted the Athi River OCPD Mr. Sharma Wario, OCS Peter Kiema and AP Commander Mr. Peter Kiema to discuss election preparedness strategy to enhance security for industries pre and post elections period.

Industrialists at the open forum revealed their fear of any security related occurrence that may interupt business operations, cause destruction to their investments or injure employees. They urged the heads of security to offer support to enable them to transit goods in different areas within the county and quick response to premises incase of any issues.

The OCPD Mr. Wario identified Mlolongo, Katani, Athi River and Syokimau as challenging areas due to the population. He however assured members that his team have put in place security measures.

Mr. Wario requested industries to encourage employees to maintain peace during the electioneering period, conduct fire and safety inductions to staff, ensure all equipment and lights are safely disconnected within the factories, ensure availability of water within industrial premises at all times and procure additional private arrangements for fire and security support.
