Kenya Power team led the Regional Manager and Network Connectivity; Eng. David Tare respectively visited manufacturing companies in Eldoret as part of Kenya Powers’ large power consumers’ engagements in the country.
Industries visited include: Raiply, Savannah Saw Mill, Pyramid Packaging, Lakhir Plastics and Eldoret Grains.
The meeting was a platform for members to interact with Kenya Power staff, share their power concerns as well as to market KAM services including energy audits.
Key issues highlighted during the meeting include Power rationing, frequent power fluctuations, power outages and high voltage cases.
Kenya Power indicated that the areas outside Nairobi are not under a rationing plan, however Kenya Power assured industries of a notice prior to any rationing in the region.
Manufacturers were encouraged to make use of the KAM/Kenya Power WhatsApp group to report any emergency issues as well as the KAM Members Help Desk. Further, members were requested to record cases of power fluctuations.
KAM Centre of Energy Efficiency and Conservation (CEEC) team will constantly monitor the progress being made by Kenya Power to ensure that the issues raised by Uasin Gishu members are conclusively solved.
Present during the visit was the KAM Uasin Gishu Chapter Chair, Mr. Bryan Cuthbert.
