Technical and Vocational Training stakeholder roundtable
KAM Nyanza/Western Chapter participated in the consultative roundtable meeting for Industry stakeholders in the Textile Industry to help build synergies and expertise needed in the Industry such as skills, training profiles, market information, new technologies and International best practices.
Speaking during the forum, State Department of Vocational and Technical Education (TVET) Principal Secretary, Dr. Kevit Desai noted that manufacturing is one of the key priority sector in achieving the big 4 agenda.
“The program is aimed at developing regional centers of excellence with capacity to link institutions and improve access of TVET and improve programs hence supporting regional integration. It will also be implemented in Tanzania and Ethiopia,” added Dr. Desai.
The program is a five year activity funded by the World Bank to the tune of $ 10.8m
