26/10/2023: We had a meeting with Mr Ritin Koria, Project Specialist at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to explore potential areas of partnership as we work towards establishing a Center of Excellence aimed at enhancing productivity and competitiveness in the industry.
During the meeting, it was acknowledged that digital transformation is crucial, especially in enhancing productivity and competitiveness. KAM Chief Executive Anthony Mwangi emphasized that UNIDO is a key stakeholder for KAM due to its global presence and extensive experience. He added that this partnership has the potential to significantly elevate our global competitiveness.
Mr Koria pointed out that traditional skills are becoming less relevant due to the convergence associated with digital transformation. He emphasized the significance of nurturing future skills, highlighting the importance of Kenya assessing its position in the realm of digital transformation. Additionally, he stressed that the application of technology is fundamental to the industry and emphasized the urgent need to bridge the gap in technology and digital transformation, fostering collaborative learning and adaptability.
We also explored proposals focused on embracing digital transformation, such as integrating virtual reality into training programs and fostering collaboration between UNIDO and KAM, where KAM can serve as a link between the knowledge base and the industry.
