Mutua Takes the Machakos Helm for Another 5 Year Term

Hon Alfred Mutua and his running mate, Francis Maliti were sworn in as the Governor and Deputy Governor of Machakos County, promise to fight corruption.

on 17th August 2017 in Machakos. The two emerged winners after the hotly contested general elections held on 8th August 2017.

In his speech, the governor emphasized his commitment to enhance employment opportunities through the construction of the new city, ensure all households access clean water, improve infrastructure through construction of roads, enhance access to electricity through the various rural electrification institutions and improve education.

Following this declaration, the Governor assured residents of Machakos County that he will uproot all corruption cases in the county. This saw the dismissal of up to four hundred county officers accused of malpractice and harassment cases for further investigation.

KAM welcomes the move by the Governor to eradicate corruption in the county as it has highly affected business operations. We also would like to urge the county government to embrace open and inclusive dialogue.
