KAM hosts Women in Manufacturing Gala Dinner 

KAM hosted the Women in Manufacturing Gala Dinner (2022). The Gala Dinner was themed – Make Space for the Next Generation of Young Women in Manufacturing. 

The Gala Dinner was supported by GIZ, BAT, Thika Cloth Mills, Capwell Industries, BIDCO Africa, Safaricom, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Kenya Airways, OBAO, Kenafric Industries, Coca Cola, CKL Africa and Redland Roses.

KAM meets KBL 

KAM engaged Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) MD John Musunga to discuss areas of collaboration. 

KAM engages Government on Scrap Metal Ban 

We engaged the Government and its agencies on the ban on scrap metal trade. The Government delegation was led by Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government – Dr Fred Matiang’i and his Industrialization counterpart, Ms Betty Maina. 

KAM, Solarize Africa partner on renewable energy 

KAM signed an MoU with Solarise Africa to create financial linkages for our local manufacturers on a wide range of renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions.

SME Hub hosts Innovation Programme workshop 

The KAM SME Hub hosted a 2-day business strategy workshop. The forum sought to sensitize SMEs on how to formulate an effective manufacturing growth strategy for their business.

Kenya, Tanzania hold bilateral trade talks 

KAM participated in the Kenya-Tanzania Bilateral Trade talks held in Zanzibar. During the meeting, 10 non-trade barriers (NTBs) were resolved. Of the 15 pending NTBs, Kenya and Tanzania provided clear recommendations and action. In total, 52 out of 67 issues raised by Kenya and Tanzania have been resolved since June 2021.

KAM Lower Eastern Region Chapter engaged aspiring Machakos County Governor, Nzioka Waita.  

During the meeting, KAM presented the Manufacturing Manifesto, to raise awareness on the importance of centering industry in development plans.
