Study tours
The Association participated in study tours to Denmark and Thailand. The tour to Denmark focused on waste management and renewable energy. On the other hand, the Thailand tour focused on Industry 4.0, following our MoU with Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) to drive the automation and digital transformation of Kenya’s manufacturing sector.
KAM engages Parliament on Finance Bill 2022
KAM engaged the Finance and National Planning Committee of the National Assembly on the Financial Year 2022/2023 budget proposals. During the forum, we shared the Association’s position on the implications of some of the proposals in the Bill on the manufacturing sector, and the country’s economy.
MPA 2022 Engagement
We met Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on the Manufacturing Priority Agenda (MPA) 2022. During the meeting, we highlighted the need for a simple, transparent, stable and predictable tax regime.
Regional Members Open Forums
We hosted the Nyanza/Western and Coast Region Members Open Forums. The forums focused on issues affecting Members in the region, the Manufacturing Manifesto as well as skills development. We also used the forums as a platform to raise awareness on Project Qwanza (ERP system).
Quarry Sub-Sector meets Kenya Power
The Quarry Sub-Sector engaged Kenya Power to discuss access to quality and stable power for the Sub-Sector.
