KAM CEO’s Brief | 6th July 2018

KAM engages CS, Ministry of Water

KAM engaged the Ministry of Water and Sanitation Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Simon Chelugui to discuss water issues affecting industry and to present the 2028 Manufacturing Priority Agenda.

Among the issues deliberated upon include overlapping regulatory institutions, lack of harmonized fees and charges particularly  in sewerage connections, inadequate Wastewater facilities and varying requirements of effluent standards for effluent discharge, among others.

KAM seeks to strengthen partnership with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation with a view to work closely and to support water and irrigation development objectives of Government. Structured engagements would yield the desired results to enhance access to water and enhance food security for all Kenyans.
