KAM hosts National Assembly Members

Kenya Association of Manufacturers, on 3rd May 2018 hosted the National Assembly committees of Delegated Legislation, Trade, Industry and Cooperatives and  Finance and Planning in the quest to promote Kenya’s Manufacturing Sector.

Speaking at the forum, KAM Chairlady, Ms. Flora Mutahi highlighted  3 parameters that if addressed with spur manufacturing growth for Kenya, including

  • A competitive environment
  • Access to market for Kenyan goods
  • Having a predictable and stable policy environment

The Chair of the Delegated Legislation Committee enlightened KAM members on the role of the committee which is also commonly linked to annulments and to ensure that legislations are complaint with the Statutory Instruments Act.

The Chair of the Trade, Industry and cooperatives retaliated that the role of Members of Parliament in legislation making and oversight. The Chair encouraged the Association to propose laws that will provide for a conducive business environment.
