Eastern Chapter engages Machakos County Deputy Governor

Kenya Association of Manufacturers Eastern Chapter engaged Machakos County Deputy Governor, Eng. Francis Maliti to deliberate on possible partnership areas aimed at growing the County’s manufacturing sector.

Machakos County Deputy Governor noted that the manufacturing sector plays a critical role in the society by creating jobs and wealth, adding that the county government is commitment towards the growth of the sector.

KAM Eastern Chapter Vice Chairman, Mr. Walter Mochoge noted that industry aims to contribute 15 per cent to the economy and create jobs for the youth. The Chapter Vice Chairman also added that County Government should address high fees and charges imposed by the county, depilated roads and water for industrial use, which increase cost of doing business.

The County and the Chapter agreed to have frequent engagement meetings aimed at promoting the growth of the sector.
