Kenya National E-Trade Portal & National Trade Negotiations Council Launched

The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives launched the National Trade Negotiations Council and the Kenya E-Trade Portal on 18th October 2017 with the aim to enable the country’s business community access global markets.

Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperative CS, Mr. Adan Mohamed noted that as trade negotiations in bilateral, regional and multilateral become more complex and competitive, there is need to have an exhaustible consultations with all stakeholders to ensure that no one in the business fraternity is left behind.

The State Department of Trade Principal Secretary, Dr. Chris Kiptoo noted that the online platform a single point access to trade related information. “The Trade Information Portal will be an on-line platform which provides a comprehensive, single-point access to up-to-date trade related information mainly step-by-step guides to imports, exports and transit procedures. This will help current, potential traders and other stakeholders to access information that will assist them to make informed business decisions,” said State Department of Trade Principal Secretary Dr. Chris Kiptoo.
