Nyanza/Western Chapter engages Kisumu County Governor

KAM Nyanza/Western Chapter Committee engaged Kisumu County Governor, Prof. Peter Anyang Nyong’o on the status of business environment within the county. Key among the discussions was the status of the Infrastructure in the county, town planning and inter-county trade.
 
Governor Nyong’o noted that the County was working towards the rehabilitation of Kisumu-Miwani road, adding that his government has put in place project management and roads maintenance teams to ensure that the work done is of high quality.
 
The County, with the support of a donor, is working on a Geophysical Plan and a bill to guide in town planning initiatives. “The bill will be forwarded to the County Assembly to ensure a policy framework is put in place to guide future developments within the County,” added Gov. Nyon’go.
 
The Governor also agreed to engage Lake Region Economic Block summit on harmonising fees and charges across the block as one way to address the inter-county trade challenges.
KAM Nyanza/Western Chapter Chairlady, Ms Joyce Opondo noted that KAM will support the Governor and the County government in their work to ensure businesses environment is improved.
