The National Assembly adopted a report (attached) by the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources recommending suspension of the gazette notice – banning the use, manufacture and importation of plastic bags on 30th May 2017.

Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) on 15 March 2017 stated that local manufacturers were not consulted on the ban of plastic bags following the ban to use, manufacture and import all plastic bags.
