KAM, Kenya Power celebrate Energy Efficiency in industry

Kenya Association of Manufacturers in partnership with Kenya Power hosted a meeting to celebrate the progress of the KAM Energy Management Awards.

Speaking at the meeting, Kenya Power Ag. General Manager for Customer Service and Regional Coordination Eng. Aggrey Machasio applauded the efforts made by manufacturers in energy conservation.

“We support KAM‘s efforts in its endeavors particularly in matters energy efficiency. It is necessary to prudently use our natural resources while considering future generations. Kenya Power is in talks with the Ministry of Energy to reduce power costs for manufacturers, especially SMES,’ Eng. Machasio said.

KAM Head of Consulting Ms Joyce Njogu, reiterated the importance of energy efficiency in industry, adding that,’ Energy efficiency in business attracts high end clients because the world is embracing it. As we support SMEs, we should also recognize manufacturers who have sustained energy efficiency.’

The Energy Management Awards (EMA) is an annual award that promotes excellence in energy management in Kenya and recognizes enterprises that have achieved significant reduction in their energy consumption through implementation of energy efficient measures and technologies. This year, the 15th Edition of the Energy Management Awards will be held on April, 12th 2019.
