Enhancing Business – County Engagements in Kajiado

The KAM Machakos & Surrounding Regions Chapter in collaboration with Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), Kajiado Chapter, met with various Directors of the Kajiado County in a bid to enhance business engagements in key county policy processes and committees.

The two Business Membership organizations entered into a memorandum of understanding highlighting collaborative areas to partner in and enhance competitiveness of their members in the county.

The Director of Trade and Industry, Mr. David Baiwa reiterated the County’s commitment towards ensuring ease of doing business for industries and acknowledged the contribution of businesses to the county’s revenue. He committed to be the liaison through which engagements and forums with the Executive and other County Committees with business shall be coordinated.

Proposal made to the county was for the need to create the County Budget Economic Forum (CBEF), Segmented public participation on finance bill, bi-annual engagements with the Executive to take stock of policies affecting business and inclusion of business to major committees of interest.
